“Setting the Tone”

Have you ever wondered why as we get older sometimes our skin tone changes. It can sometimes become uneven, and I  have heard several women say that their skin gets more dry as they age. I will name some key things that you can do to help correct this matter. First things first…

1.) You must have a daily skincare routine, this should be done in the morning and before bed. Cleansing your skin before bed is very critical, because you need to wash away all of the environmental assaults from the day. You need a skincare line that you use faithfully and it should consist of the following: (Cleanser, toner, serum, moisturizer).

2.) If you can find a cleanser that exfoliates as well that is a plus, that will help remove any dead skin cells.

3.) Next, use a good toner especially if you have oily skin.  Toner will remove excess dirt and oil from the skin. My skin is a little dry so I like to use a little witch hazel because it’s not strong and it does not over dry my skin.

4.) A good serum is always great after cleansing and toning, it adds the extra boost your skin needs look and feel hydrated!

5.) Last but not least “The Moisturize”…yes “The Moisturizer”! This is the key component to younger looking, vibrant skin! The type of moisturizer you use is super important especially in the summer and winter months. In the summer using a moisturizer with spf is ideal to protect your skin from harmful sun damage, and in the winter you will want to use a thicker moisturizer because of the cold dry temperatures that can be rough on our skin.

Also a few of other helpful tips are increasing your water intake, getting a proper amount of rest, and having a balanced diet. All of these things are key to having even skin tone as well. These are my thoughts and opinions on what works for me. I hope this information was helpful.
